If you thought tugging on Superman’s cape got you in trouble, imagine what he’d do if he caught you looking up the skirt of his cousin. Well DC Comics has ensured the modesty of the 'Maid of Might' stays protected, with the news Supergirl will now wear sports spandex shorts under her skirt - all in the name of justice. This revealing or 'less-revealing' story, may not be earth-shattering, but it does go along way to establishing that Kara is not a ‘bad girl’ and that DC Comics and it’s icon’s do have standards. With the length of the skirt disappearing faster then a speeding bullet, the latest creative team have given respect to her costume by showing the ‘S’ she wears stands for something.
As artist Jamal Igle stated on Newsarama, while overtly 'sexy' women, like Power Girl, are suited to more revealing outfits, that’s not inline with Supergirl’s ‘unintentionally sexy’ character. Still some guys take a while to change, like Captain Marvel and Green Lantern, caught keeping abreast of the situation in Justice League: Cry for Justice.
